Use oil or ghee to make dosas. Foxtail millet is a very healthy alternative to rice and good for diabetes patient. It tastes equally good like the ones made using rice. You can use rice flakes too while grinding the batter which makes the dosa even softer.
Instructions to make Foxtail millet dosa:
- Soak foxtail millet, rice and all daals separately for 4 to 6 hours
- Add fenugreek seeds also while soaking
- Grind all above items separately and mix all the batters in a bowl, add salt and keep for some time for fermentation
- Now grease tawa and put a ladleful of the batter and spread like dosa and cook until brown. U may add stuffing of your choice or enjoy as it is
- This can be enjoyed with sambhar and coconut chutney or any sauce
It tastes equally good like the ones made using rice. You can use rice flakes too while grinding the batter which makes the dosa even softer. How to cook Foxtail Millet And Little Millet Dosa (Thinai And Samai Dosa) Wash the millets and Urad dal and add fenugreek with them. Soak in water for five hours. Then grind them in a mixie or wet grinder to fine dosa batter adding required water. Add salt and mix well. Grind both separately to a smooth batter.
