I have seen millet laddu recipes using ragi or thinai/Foxtail millet. For a change, I used all the millets like thinai, kambu, kuthiravali, saamai, varagu, ragi and in addition I used yellow moong dal and barley to make it like sathumaavu urundai/Health mix powder balls to get all the health benefits of millets. This laddu is loaded with protein and when added with ragi flour, it becomes a complete energy ball. I had some leftover urad dal and yellow moong dal powders which I prepared for Janmashtami.

The ingredients needed to make Millet laddu:
  1. Prepare 1 cup foxtail Millet flour
  2. Prepare as required Desi ghee
  3. Get As needed Cashew,almonds, raisins,makhana,elaichi
  4. Take 3 tablespoon powdered sugar

Iron-rich (jaggery) laddu are good for expectant (pregnant) women. This is my long time pending post. Wash the millet until the water becomes clear, and you can see the millet through the water. Millet Laddu is variation made with millet flour and is equally delicious as the regular laddus.

Instructions to make Millet laddu:
  1. Pre heat the khadai for 2 mins in low flame.Add 2 table spoons of desi ghee in the khadai.Add foxtail millet flour and mix it well with the ghee
  2. Cook till the flour becomes little golden brown. As the color of the flour starts to darken switch off the flame and keep it aside for 2-3 minutes
  3. Now add the sugar,dry fruits and elaichi powder. Mix it well with your hands with little pressure
  4. Make a tight fist and shape it like a round ball.
  5. Delicious and nutritious Millet laddu is ready.
