This adai is simple to make and the procedure is much similar to the conventional adai and the only difference is instead of rice we are going to use thinai. Foxtail Millet is know as Kangni in Hindi, Thinai in Tamil, Korra in Telugu, Navane in Kannada and Thina in Malayalam.

- Make ready 8 - 10 Curry leaves (finely chopped) -
- Make ready 1 tbsp Coriander leaves (finely chopped) -
- Get Oil - as needed
This adai is very protein rich and nutritious. Suitable for people who wants to reduce weight. Foxtail Millet or thinai arisi is a very healthy and nutricious option. It helps to control blood sugar levels when consumed on regular basis.
Instructions to make Foxtail millet veg adai (thinai adai):
- Clean foxtail millet and the dals together.
- Soak them together in drinking water for atleast 2 hours.
- Grind them along with the red chilli into a coarse thick batter, with the soaked water.
- Add jeera, salt, asafoetida, carrot, cabbage, coconut, curry leaves and coriander leaves to the batter
- Mix together so that the veggies are combined well
- Heat a tava in medium flame
- Take a ladle full of the thick batter and pour in the center. Spread it around using the back of the ladle (like a slightly thick dosa).
- Spread oil around and cook on both sides till it turns golden brown
- Serve hot, along with powdered jaggery, avial or chutney. Goes well with plain curd too.
Foxtail Millet or thinai arisi is a very healthy and nutricious option. It helps to control blood sugar levels when consumed on regular basis. It helps to lower triglyceride levels, LDL/VLDL Cholestrol and increase in HDL Cholestrol. Thinai is rich in protiens, and low in fat. Adai is a healthy South Indian Breakfast dish made with rice and a few varieties of dals/ lentils or millets.
