Pudina Tambuli/Tambli is a very traditional Karnataka dish which our grannys have been making from many years. Its basically a uncooked yoghurt based dish served along with rice. One can make thambli using different herbs/seeds/peels/ingredients. Today we have Pudina Tambli / mint leaves thambli.

Steps to make Tomato tambli/tambuli:
  1. Heat a pan,add 1tsp ghee or coconut oil,add cumin seeds,green chillies,byedgi chillies,curry leaves and saute for some seconds,add chopped tomatoes and saute till it becomes soft.
  2. Add grated coconut and saute for just 2mins and switch off the flame and keep aside to cool.
  3. In a mixie grinder add the sauted mixture with some salt and little water and grind to a fine paste..
  4. Add curd to it and grind again.
  5. Transfer the ground mixture in a big bowl,and adjust the consistency you prefer,nor too thick nor too thin..and add coriander leaves…
  6. Tempering:- Heat a tadka pan,add ghee and add all the tempering ingredients to it…Add this tempering over the Tambli and mix well.
  7. Tomato Tambli/tomato flavoured curd is ready to have with steam rice or consume it as a drink…
  8. Healthy Tambli is ready to serve.
