Thambittu is a classic and traditional sweet from Karnataka. In some regions, most festivals are incomplete without thambittu. It is prepared for festivals like nagar panchami, gauri pooja and Ganesh chaturthi. Thambittu or rice flour ladoo is a very popular recipe from Karnataka.

The ingredients needed to make Tambittu:
- Get 1 cup (heaped) Kadalebele/bengal gram lentil
- Make ready 1/3 cup (heaped) Green gram lentil/hesarubele
- Make ready 1/4 cup Whole wheat/godhi
- Take 1/2-3/4 cup Grated dry coconut
- Make ready 2 tbsp White sesame seeds
- Make ready 1&1/4 cup Jaggery
- Make ready 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
- Take Water to make jaggery syrup

Instructions to make Tambittu:
- Dry roast kadalebele, hesarubele, godhi and white sesame seeds separately on medium flame till light brown, without burning
- Allow it to cool for a while and then grind into smooth powder (don’t grind sesame seeds)
- Meanwhile make jaggery syrup (one string consistency)
- Add grated dry coconut, roasted sesame seeds and cardamom powder to the ground lentil wheat powder and combine everything well
- Pour the prepared jaggery syrup, little at once and mix everything to make a stiff dough
- Pinch small portions and make tambittu like shown in the above picture
